Asian Conference on Disaster Reduction (ACDR2024) adopts the theme, “Proactive Solutions and Anticipatory Actions for Sustainable Resilience to the Climate Crisis”. ACDR 2024 will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam on 12-13 November 2024, and jointly organized by the Government of Vietnam (Vietnam Disaster and Dyke Management Authority, VDDMA), the Government of Japan (Cabinet Office, CAO), and the Asian Disaster Reduction Center (ADRC) with the following objectives. Objectives • Greater understanding and awareness of the climate crisis in Asia, particularly focusing on floods and flash floods • Showcase effective tools and technologies to mitigate the impacts of climate and water-related disasters • Identify gaps and challenges in current disaster management strategies and policies across Asia, with a focus on enhancing proactive measures and anticipatory actions • Share case studies and country experiences to facilitate learning, knowledge exchange, and cooperation among member countries
